Dinshaw Iron works, one of the most well known polypropylene plates manufacturing units, celebrated its 125th anniversary. Dinshaw's have entered the arena of engineering services and offer turnkey plants and other infrastructure for filtration.
 Dinshaw Iron works established in 1884 was engaged in manufacturing machinery for oil industry. The company made a breakthrough by introducing hydraulically operated cylinders with mechanical locking devices under Mr Ramesh B Patel's stewardship, who is the chairman of the company. In 1970s Hansen GmbH of West Germany introduced Polypropylene plates and they were the sole representatives of Hansen GmbH. The chief guest for the function Jasu Shah, Founder and Chairman, Chemtech Foundation said, " Ramesh Patel is not just leading Dinshaw, but leading with an IRON FISTED power, control and commitment".  Also Jasu Shah felicitated Ramesh Patel for the completion of 125 years and his contribution to the industry.
  js.jpgIn the year 2000, the company commissioned a new factory at Hatkangale, close to Kolhapur, where compression polypropylene molding presses are designed, manufactured and installed. This factory manufactures high quality PP filter elements. Simultaneously it has also installed an induction furnace to produce alloy steel casting required for various components. Dinshaw has the manufacturing capabilities to manufacture PP Filter and Hydraulic Cylinders and has developed its own Membrane Filter Press. They have also introduced automated filter presses that require minimal human intervention.
Narendra Parekh, Guest of Honor and Director, Pidilite Industries Ltd shared his experience of buying their first machine from Dinshaw. He cited the long term, about 43 years relation, between Dinshaw and Pidilite, which is still going on very strong and they still buying machines from Dinshaw for every requirement of theirs. He wished the complete team to keep moving with better and stronger commitment towards business. Whereas K R Ambekar, Vice President Engineering for Sudarshan Chemicals Industries Ltd said, "Whenever Ramesh or Viral Patel meet me, they always say that they have something new to show". Their readiness and ability to experiment, invent and grow is why Sudarshan proudly associates them with Dinshaw.

Nagpure, Deputy Manager, Purchase, Thermax Ltd put forward his views on Dinshaw's backward integration, which can be seen as they are now having their own plate manufacturing units, foundry units as well as accessory manufacturing workshop. Hemant Shetty, COO, Chemtech highlighted Ramesh Patel as a person and his approach towards life. He shared views of  Patel and his lifestyle wherein at one point of time, about 30 years back, the doctors had predicted that he would not live for long but he is still going strong and the doctors who made the predictions have become late now.
